    Very active and prolific

Posted by Unknown on 12th Nov 2014

My group of six over a few months has become the dominant species in my tanks (easily over a hundred individuals ranging from half a pinhead to half an inch). Durable, hungry, and highly reproductive (and quite pretty), they arrived ready to go to work and do more to curb nuisance algae than anything short my Amano shrimp (also from alpha pro and a great investment). You may want to consider a few assassin snails to keep them in check, although they seem to have reached a kind of equilibrium in my setup. I supplement algae wafers (which they swarm) and flake food.

    Diligent cleaners

Posted by Unknown on 24th Jun 2014

It's been four days and the Ramshorns have a routine: Anubias leaves, glass, crypticorne. While not as awe-inspiring as the Black Racer Nerites (who made my tank pristine) they will be able to multiply. I needed the Ramshorns to clean after I treated the tank for planaria with Panacur and the Nerites were killed off. Two days ago I noticed babies that look about three or four weeks old--clearly something is going right here, and I think the Ramshorns are helping tremendously. Thanks Ron!

    great snails

Posted by Unknown on 17th Mar 2014

All snails come alive and start working on the algae right away in my tank. They're very active. They don't look like in the picture though. Their color is brownish. I think I'm gonna get some pink ramshorn nails too.
