This fish is a splendid addition to a community fish tank. Green translucent body with a red underbelly. This schooling tetra requires many hiding places to encourage comfort. Subdued lighting will help the Green Fire Tetra to be more active and visible. This species prefers a slightly acidic pH level.
Kept in a school of 5 or more fish, the Green Fire Tetra will retain its full coloration. However, a solo tetra will most likely lose all of its color. By utilizing tall plants and driftwood, this mid-level swimmer will be much more visible to observers.
