Product Overview

Fissidens Nobilis is a true aquatic and has recently gained popularity due to its small sized leaves and ease of maintenance.
It clings naturally to the attached medium (wood, stone, etc) and frequent retying is not required. It is naturally slow growing and can be tied to driftwood to create a naturally looking mossy driftwood.
Fissidens Nobilis is not demanding and does not require much light or nutrients to grow well. Once settled and attached, it is almost maintenance free.

Size 1.5 inches x 1.5 inches, Very rarely seen!!

Temperature:  70f~82f
pH: 6.0-7.5
Light: LOW
Growth: Slow

    Also my first Fissidens

Posted by Krystal on 16th Aug 2014

I bought F. nobilis at the same time as F. geppi, as I've always wanted some Fissidens, but I haven't seen it for sale much. Anyway, it arrived safe and sound and in good shape. I've had a little bit of trouble keeping it healthy, though I don't know why. My F. geppi is doing well, but this stuff isn't as happy. It also didn't fare well on my move halfway across the country, and half of it died, which surprised me since they're okay with low light. *shrug*

Still, I like F. nobilis much better than F. geppi: the leaves are larger and more like palm fronds, and mine has a deeper, richer green color than F. geppi. They're both neat mosses, though, especially if you're looking for something a little different than the pin e-like look of java/peacock/Christmas moss.
