Product Overview

This plant is an easy plant to grow  and does well in a wide range of water conditions.
It prefers a temperature range of 65-75  degrees Fahrenheit
6.4-7.0 pH, and slightly soft to moderate water.
Sometimes when first introducing Eleocharis parvula to new aquariums browning or decaying stems may occur.  This  adjustment period is a natural process of this plant as it needs to  adapt to its new environment or transition from emersed growth.

It doesn't necessarily need bright lighting to thrive, i have seen it grow very well under moderate light with no fertilisation. That said: CO2 and fertilisation, especially substrate ferts will really help.

Trimming will help stimulate the low 'lawn' effect. This plant will propegate itself with runners and make a thick lawn looking area in your tank in no time.

    Fairly Pleased

Posted by Savannah McGregor on 7th Aug 2014

I purchased two pots and unfortunately did not choose 1-2 day shipping. The Texas heat really did a number on these plants, but after two weeks it's perking up and has rooted really well. I'm expecting to see new runners soon and I couldn't be happier with how it looks.

The pots were packaged very well. They arrived bright green and very healthy.

    Dwarf Hairgrass

Posted by Paul on 11th Jul 2013

I received a pot that was about 110% full and all healthy. It's also bigger (really!) than other dwarf hairgrass I've seen. Very healthy stuff and doing very well for me.

    Overall, Very Pleased

Posted by Curtis on 11th Mar 2013

This was my first plant purchase from AlphaProBreeders. I'm always nervous when ordering plants from a new supplier for the first time, but I am quite satisfied with my purchase.

When my DHG arrived, it was well packaged and well insulated. Once I had unpacked my order (5x DHG) I began inspecting my plants.
I was a bit disheartened to see that the pots of DHG weren't completely full. For a rough estimate, I'd say each pot was approximately 75% full. But, the DHG itself looked healthy and green (aside from a few decaying spots in the very center of the pots which is normal in my experience).
I separated my plants into small "plugs" trimmed them and planted my tank. From the 5 pots, I was able to separate them into well over 100 individual plugs. It has been about 2.5 weeks since planting and all but 3 or 4 of my plugs are growing strong. I am extremely happy with my decision to purchase here.

In summary, while the pots weren't completely full, I'll take 75% full healthy pots over 100% full unhealthy pots any day.
